Amana : AMC5143AAS 1.4 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven with 1,100 Cooking Watts - Stainless Steel Review

Amana : AMC5143AAS 1.4 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven with 1,100 Cooking Watts - Stainless SteelMy first Amana Radarange I had for over 20 years(it's still running, but loosing its cooking power).Even though Consumer Report didn't test this product I bought it anyway due to past experience and it came in stainless steel.

It is actually lower wattage than my old one, but it much more powerful. Great space inside, but due to the turntable (that you can't turn off)my rectagular dishes bang around.

I only have one negative: You can't use the kitchen timer feature and use the microwave at the same time like on my old one.

Sharp 1.0-Cubic-Foot Microwave, Black Review

Sharp 1.0-Cubic-Foot Microwave, BlackEasy to use just follow instructions. This one replaced a GE which only lasted a year, which was a disappointment as my husband and I use to like GE products. This one has easy to set power levels which I really like. The defrost is the best one I have had.I'm pleased all the way around about this product plus the fact that Amazon got it out the door and to me in less time than it would have taken me to go searching the stores! KitchenAid Architect Series II KHMS2050SSS 2.0 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven - Stainless St Review

KitchenAid Architect Series II KHMS2050SSS 2.0 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven - Stainless StQuite frankly - the best microwave I've ever used. Read several reviews around the net, and decided to go for it despite its fairly high price. So glad I did.First, it's flat-out great looking in my newly remodeled kitchen.More importantly, it seems to be more powerful (or at least more efficient) than any other micro I've ever used. It's simple to use - you can punch in time and power settings just like any other micro, but its preset and sensing options so far seem to be extremely accurate. That's quite a "bonus," as I really did not expect those to be much more than gimmicky, but they've proved me very wrong.Note - many micros in this price-range have convection (or more aptly "convection lite") built in; this one does not, but for me it wasn't an issue.

One thing to watch for is your vendor actually having it in stock.I actually tried to purchase this from 3 different vendors who advertised it as "in stock"; however, all 3 had to get it from the manufacturer. Not sure if this is industry-wide, or if I just had a little Schleprock-syndrome.On the first 2, I canceled the order once I got delivery estimates; on the 3rd one, I acquiesced and just waited the extra week.If you need it immediately, beware; if you can wait a week or two, settle in and wait - it's worth the wait.

UPDATE: After one year, it's still performing fine. Note however, this is one of the "leakiest" microwaves I've owned (from an RF perspective). When this microwave is running, it effectively kills any WiFi 802.11 b/g/n signal anywhere around. My profession involves wireless networking, and microwaves are notoriously bad about this, but I have to admit, this one (at least the one I have) is one of the most disruptive I've experienced - you absolutely cannot keep an 802.11 b/g/n connection with this microwave running ... good thing it's quick and doesn't run long ;-).(In case you care, I've had multiple routers/wireless APs and multiple wireless clients with the same results, so the "issue" seems to be with the microwave versus my computer equipment.)

KitchenAid Architect Series II: KCMS1555SSS 1.5 cu. ft. Countertop/Built-In Microwave Oven - Stainless SteelI just bought this recently from this seller for about $50 less.Really nice microwave - has so much power that I find I need to reduce the power level for lots of things and if I don't, the time is greatly reduced.Burned popcorn almost immediately at high heat.

Very tough, very sleek looking, but huge.Keep in mind when buying to have a large space for it.It doesn't bother me, but my husband thinks it is too big and we have a large kitchen with lots of counter space.

Sanyo EM-S9515W Family Size Microwave Oven Review

Sanyo EM-S9515W Family Size Microwave OvenMicrowave heats well but features are primitive...there is no delay start option, even though the display panel has a timer label; this is apparently decorative, and does nothing, as confirmed by reviewing the manual and contacting the company. Also, selecting power level must be done by repeatedly pressing the power button to count down from 10, rather than using the number keypad, as on earlier models. This was disappointing. Buyers should download the manual and read it before purchasing this unit.

Sharp 900-Watt 0.9 Cubic Foot Convection Microwaves Review

Sharp 900-Watt 0.9 Cubic Foot Convection MicrowavesGiven the tremendous functionality, and especially for the price, I cannot in good conscience give this oven less than 5 full stars. However, that is definitely not to imply that it is perfect.Nothing is, and this is no exception. So, while others here have done a fine job of highlighting the positive aspects (which is in fact why I bought one, too), I will try to provide a more balanced perspective. First, though, a quick re-cap of those highlights.Yes, this oven really does do the job of three: a conventional microwave, a convection unit, and a toaster oven.In fact, that does not do it justice because it does even more than that. You cannot, for example, grill a burger in any of those types, but you can in this.Especially for a small kitchen, this is phenomenally useful. In just a couple of weeks, I've already become reliant on its non-microwave functions for a variety of things, from roast chicken to frozen French fries, both of which come out better than in my conventional oven and in much less than half the time. And cleanup has not been an issue.

Still, there are flaws.Others have noted the wobbly turntable and difficult to read LCD display, and this is true - but I think there are more serious ones.I'll start with build quality since that was the first one I encountered.I've unfortunately had a chance to explore this in-depth, thanks to a broken fan assembly in mine. This was not shipping damage, either, but a manufacturing defect. In checking out the problem, I was able to examine things on the inside, it was clear that the unit is built to a very tight price point. There is an abundance of crimped sheet metal, a minimum number of screws, and cheap plastic snap-ins securing (barely) too many of the vital components.I'll also note that Consumer Reports has been reporting failure rates for Sharp built-in microwaves (the only variety they track reliability in) many times that of the other brands. That said, this unit replaced a Sharp countertop microwave which was still going strong at 13 years.Another weak point - this time of the design - is the ratio of exterior to interior space. In other words, the cavity is quite small for the amount of space the oven takes up, even compared to other convection units. In fact, my counter can just barely accommodate its depth. This is likely partially the result of its `economical' design. Also related to that, no doubt, is the omission of a doneness sensor, which I would expect on any microwave at this price, convection or not. This sensor is what allows a microwave to automatically reheat dishes, and shut off when it detects, through the amount of steam given off, that a dish is done heating.Instead, we are given reheat presets, which are never adequate (unless maybe you weigh your food first and configure it just right on the plate).

However, not all the preset programs are useless. In fact, much to my surprise, some are invaluable.I expected that all the co-called `Compu-` settings were simple time presets, but this is not the case. Many of these are fairly complex cooking routines, sometimes involving all three methods in various sequences. For example, the Compu-Roast 1 program will cook a darn good roast chicken automatically, using microwave, convection, and even the upper grill for browning near the end.The hamburger Compu-Grill program works similarly well, though I believe with just the 2 grills.(It is not always possible to tell what cooking mode is being used). These programs make it simple for even a mediocre cook like myself to begin using the oven instantly and with good results. And it prevents it from becoming merely an overpriced microwave (like my mother's KitchenAid has: it has convection and an upper grill, too, but no programs, so they remain unused after 2 years).Nonetheless, the presence of such helpful programs does not preclude it having a doneness sensor which is virtually a standard feature these days.Ideally, it would also have a linear power supply like the Panasonics do, allowing truly low-power microwaving, rather than simply cycling full power on and off to simulate low power operation. But not many other manufacturers do this, and that may be expecting too much. Finally, beware that this oven will draw more current than a comparably-sized microwave-only unit: up to 13 amps. This can tax a typical 15 amp household circuit if anything else is plugged in.Add a toaster, for example, and you will trip a breaker (I have).

To summarize, while the build quality is a concern, very few ovens I am aware of offer as much functionality to bake, roast, microwave and grill - and fewer still offer preset programs making all that flexibility readily accessible.None do it for so low a price. In fact, of the few other countertop convection microwaves I could find, nearly all were over three hundred dollars actual selling price. That makes this unique oven a bargain in several ways.

Panasonic 2-Cubic Foot 1100-Watt Oven Review

Panasonic 2-Cubic Foot 1100-Watt OvenI decided to film a short video describing this microwave rather than type out my full review.

Bottom line... I love the inverter magnetron which cooks at an even level of power rather than cycling 100% power. My only dislike is around the kitchen timer which doesn't keep beeping when it's done and won't allow you to use the microwave while it's counting.

Overall I do recommend this oven.

Kalorik MW 26146 Steam Microwave Oven with Real Convection Review

Kalorik MW 26146 Steam Microwave Oven with Real ConvectionI needed a new microwave and since I have limited space I liked that this oven served several purposes. I even waited a couple of months for it.I did try to find more info but found little on the internet and it wasn't available at a local store. My first impression when I opened it was how cheep it looked. The outside in mostly plastic.I worry each time I fill the water tank or empty the waste water tank that they will break and cost a fortune to replace.I haven't cleaned the steam generator yet but it requires decalcification every 20 uses andcompartment is opening required a screwdriver.Cleaning instructions also direct cleaning 9 holes with a soft cloth & vinegar and I can't find the holes referred to. When I opened the door it scraped (I think the parts were not smooth finished). The controls are not intuitive and I find them difficult. The cooking instruction take up 19 pages. When I used the microwave function there was a annoying rattling noise.I contacted customer service via email and after suggesting several obvious causes they went to the warehouse to check and found it to be normal. When you microwave most things you are hit with steam when you open the door. Also the power is low so things take longer.I don't use the other items as often as I thought I would. It is just easier to do these functions the standard way.The convection function doest seem to save time. The inside cavity is not large and many item I use to use in the microwave I can no long use.The window is not as clear as the picture indicates. I would return it if I could.I will never buy another item online that costs this much without an unlimited satisfaction guarantee including shipping costs.

Sharp 1-1/2-Cubic-Foot 900-Watt Convection Microwaves Review

Sharp 1-1/2-Cubic-Foot 900-Watt Convection MicrowavesWow, after reading the other reviews I had to throw my 2 cents in.It's big all right but that's the only point I have in agreement with the other reviewers.

I've had the R-930CS for almost a year.It really lives up to what Sharp says it does.It bakes, broils and microwaves -- all well!I use it to cook meat and it's done a great job on steaks, fresh sausage and chicken.

It also has a nifty feature called Sensor Cook, which is intelligent microwaving. It works for a number of foods including vegetables, frozen entrees and hot dogs.I use it for hot dogs, actually frozen hot dogs.I had no idea how long to cook a frozen hot dog.Not a problem.Slap a couple on a plate, hit Sensor Cook - Hot Dog and the oven does the rest. They come out perfect.

Would I get this oven if I just needed a microwave?Of course not.( I'm not even sure what you use a 1.5 cubic foot microwave for.)But if you need a microwave and a regular oven all in a countertop package, the R-930CS is great.

The cleanup of this oven is easy too.None of the horror stories from the early generation microwave convection combos. This one is stainless steel on the inside. No protruding parts. It (so far) cleans up with a damp paper towels or sometimes with a bit of dishwashing liquid.

Maxi-Matic Elite Cuisine 4-Slice Toaster Oven Broiler Review

Maxi-Matic Elite Cuisine 4-Slice Toaster Oven BroilerIt is getting harder to find a good small toaster oven at almost any price. We had a GE toaster oven that was purchased in the late 1970's.It fit on a 10' deep shelf and took very little space. The rack pulled out when the door was opened had a shiny chrome interior which made great toast and it lasted almost 30 years. When it finally died, we looked for a replacement. The only one that fit in the space we wanted looked almost the same as our old GE.It was a Black and Decker unit and it only lasted a year before the top element burnt out. It also was built very cheaply.
We shopped around and read some good reviews on the Maxi Matic.Price was good and it actually didn't have a cheap feel to it like the B&D.It makes great toast.Heats up fast and is easy to clean. It has quartz elements that seem pretty sturdy. That is the good part. The trade off is that the toasting is regulated by a timer, not a sensor. There isn't a temperature control for baking. The heating elements do not turn off when the door is opened. This is a very basic unit. The switch on top is for off- top element-bottom element or both elements(toast)The bottom is just a timer that ticks very loudly and is maxed at 15 minutes and has markings for light, medium and dark toast.(Use light or it comes out burnt)
If you need a toaster oven in a small space this is a decent unit. What's sad is that all the toaster ovens in this category are crappy compared to what was available 20 years ago.Price wasn't an issue. They are all crappy

Digital Microwave Oven Leakage Meter Review

Digital Microwave Oven Leakage MeterI had removed and disassembled a microwave oven door in order to replace a broken handle and wanted some level of assurance that the oven was not leaking dangerously after the repair. In my case, the unit gave readings between 1/100 and half a milliwatt per square centimeter when moved around the over door seals and across the glass at a distance of about 2". These readings are well below the FDA limit of 5 milliwatts per square centimeter where the unit is supposed to beep. So it seems to be pretty sensitive - and, from the last review (where the unit did beep), also able to detect higher, more dangerous levels of leakage. It probably deserves 5 stars but there is no way to absolutely validate its accuracy, so I am giving it four.

Product Description:
Here's a unit which will give you not only accurate digital readings of the amount of leakage from microwave ovens, but it also provides an audible "beeping" alarm and red flashing light when it senses microwaves above the 5 mW/cm² danger threshold! Ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand, it is so easy to use: just press the ON button, then press and hold the auto range ZERO button to adjust to zero before each use. Then check the seal of the operating oven door. Sensitivity down to 0.01 mW/cm² at 2450 MHz, it will read all the way up to a roasting 9.99 mW/cm² in hundredths of mW/cm². Battery operates for more than 12 months under normal use. Never needs re-calibration. Excellent reliability and high precision instrument. Complete with carry case to keep your unit in perfect condition.
And as a bonus, this unit can be used to measure radiated power from wireless keyboards, modems, cell phones and all other wireless devices using the 2450 MHz analog frequency. Has nice carry case and backlit display. Uses one 9V battery (included) or can be powered by optional external AC/DC9V adapter. One year wty and ±1dB accuracy. This is the unit we recommend if you need more information about your oven leakage. CE compliant.

Sharp Half Pint Microwave OvenI have had a sharp half pint for years and it has delivered service without fail.Just recently the door spring broke so I went in search of a reploacement. The Half Pint size fits my limited kitchen space to a T so I went back to that reliable product.I could not get a green replacement (matches my kitchen decor) so I opted for a black one.Still works wonderfully. My only issue is that the black one does not have a viewing window in the door like the green one.I never realized how much I used that viewer until it was gone.Otherwise the product is more than satisfactory.

General Electric PEM31SM SS 1.0 Cu.Ft. GE Profile Spacemaker Microwave Oven Review

General Electric PEM31SM SS 1.0 Cu.Ft. GE Profile Spacemaker Microwave Oven12 1/2 months into owning this microwave (which by the way I loved), I was cleaning it with a wet paper towel when pieces of the white interior started coming off of the top. I've never seen this happen before. Called their customer service and was told that it's actually paint and they would be happy to sell me some paint so I could paint the inside of the microwave myself. Wow, that's great customer service. I'm not sure what upset me more, telling me to buy the paint or telling me to paint it myself. Microwave lasted another 9 months before the magnetron blew (it looked like a nuclear bomb went off inside of the microwave...really scared us). I was assured that they would fix it but it would cost me upwards of $119 for labor, etc. Obviously I'm not getting it fixed. My last GE microwave lasted me around 15 years. I wasn't expecting this one to last as long (they don't make things to last anymore) but I certainly expected a lot more than 2 years.

Panasonic NN-SD697S 1300-Watt 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Stainless-Steel Microwave Oven Review

Panasonic NN-SD697S 1300-Watt 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Stainless-Steel Microwave OvenI've had this microwave for about 9 months now. It's quite powerful, doesn't take up too much counter space, and has a decent (albeit not great) look to it. [...]I would agree with the other reviewer about some of its design flaws, namely, the light doesn't come on when you open the door (the light is on only when cooking), and the dial method of entering the time is a bit unconventional, but you do get used to it. If you're looking for a powerful microwave but don't want to spend a fortune, this is a good option if you don't mind its few quirks.

Sharp R-530ES 2-Cubic-Foot 1200-Watt Microwave, Stainless Steel and Black Review

Sharp R-530ES 2-Cubic-Foot 1200-Watt Microwave, Stainless Steel and BlackTo Whom It May Concern:
On 3/6/2007 we received a NEW Sharp R-530ES 2-Cubic-Foot 1200-Watt Microwave from Sharp Electronics. It is exactly the same as the one we had a problem with. The defective microwave is being sent to their evaluation center to betaken apart and examined. I also enclosed the shattered glass turntable and the towel that caught fire when it touched the glass turntable. The unit has a very bad burn smell inside it. We are pleased with the outcome of this complaint and especially pleased that they will be evaluating the microwave for manufacturing defects. After the incident it was removed and was not used again. We were afraid to use it.
I hope that they will let us know the results of their evaluation. On 3/21/07 I filed a complaint with the BBB against Sharp Electronics and on 3/29/07 they called me and said they were sending us a new unit.On Tuesday, 3/13/2007, my husband put tomato sauce in a PYREX brand clear bowl in the microwave to heat it and set it for 3 minutes. At the end of 1 minute he smelled smoke and it was the microwave!! The glass turntable had heated up so hot that the glass carousel shattered and when he touched it with a kitchen towel , the towel burned and caught fire. The PYREX bowl was cool and the sauce was cold. The house filled with smoke and smelled for 4 days.I was concerned that it was an internal flaw in the unit and others would do the same to other consumers.
I called SHARP immediately and told them what happened and gave them model number and the details of what happened and they said they would get back to me.THEY SAID NOT TO USE THE UNIT. They called again the following day ( Wednesday ,3/14 )and asked more questions and then again on Thursday 3/15 they called again. They kept me informed and on Friday March 16, 2007, they called again to tell me SHARP would do nothing and basicly didn't care what happened to us or the microwave. They didn't even offer us a new glass turntable to replace the broken one. I pulled the unit out and will not use it again, but SHARP does not stand by their products. We were treated badly and like we didn't matter at all. We are very upset at the way they handled it. They didn't care at all that this model could pose a danger to others that own it. I thought they would want the unit to take it appart to see why this happened, but they couldn't have cared less about what happened.
This was the 3rd SHARP 2.0 cubic foot microwave for us in 3 years. The first started making an electrical noise 2 days after we had it a year and the second did the same at a little more than a year old. Then we bought this one at Amazon. All were 2 cubic feet and 1200 watts and expensive microwave ovens.

Panasonic NN-SD297S 2-Cubic Foot 1200-Watt Stainless Steel Oven, Stainless Review

Panasonic NN-SD297S 2-Cubic Foot 1200-Watt Stainless Steel Oven, StainlessI consider buying a kitchen appliance to be risky. The cost and labor involved to install means I am going to be stuck with whatever decision I make for years--unless I really mess up and have to replace it early. So I researched this purchase to death.

I replaced a worn out GE microwave/convection oven. Based on its performance and how we actually used the microwave, I decided to forget about any of the convection/speed cooking "bells and whistles" currently being offered. These features significantly increase the costs of the product, I question whether the features truly perform as marketed, and I am not sure they add value to our family. I decided to focus on (1) even microwave cooking, (2) convenience, and (3) aesthetics. That led me to this Panasonic model.

I am quite happy with this microwave. It isn't perfect, but it is a significant upgrade compared to our previous model.

The installation was easy, and instructions were good. I used my own longer screws to connect the bracket to the studs, but I am sure those provided are sufficient.

The microwave says "Genius" on the control panel. Genius may be a stretch but it has its strong points. Maybe it should say "Honors Student" or "Professor". The Sensor Reheat function works very well. Take something--anything--out of the fridge, put it in the oven, press Sensor Reheat, press Start, and it heats it very evenly without any thought by the user. My high school son, who is critical of almost everything at this stage in his life, uses this feature all the time. He recently said, "This is a serious upgrade," as he took his afternoon snack out of the oven. (I'd jokingly say that praise from him is as scarce as a Nobel Prize.)

The Inverter Turbo Defrost hasn't done a perfect job for me, but it gets the job done. Maybe a B, maybe B- grade. I defrosted 5 frozen half chicken breasts, following directions per owner's manual, including a rest period afterwards. The first problem is that the Inverter Turbo Defrost feature will not work unless the turntable is operating. A 9x13 baking dish fits into the oven, but it is too large to use with the turntable activated. So, it was difficult for me to spread out the chicken breasts. I packed the chicken into a 9x7x2.5 baking dish and it worked... but not completely evenly. Some frost and some signs of being actually cooked. Same results with other scenarios, but not as pronounced. It is still a valuable tool, but to fully execute a near-perfect defrost, I'd have to use power level and time manually, or maybe divide the frozen food into two batches. (Feeding my family a half-sized entree is not acceptable.)

The sensor cook feature... I have never been a fan of a microwave oven having a set list of items that it can cook with a push or two of button(s). What about the items that **I** want to prepare? It has "hot dog" and "frozen pocket sandwich," but doesn't have "burrito".;-) Maybe a burrito is #6, "frozen entree"? Well, it appears to be across the industry, so no use complaining. The popcorn feature works perfectly. i tried the rice option, and wasn't happy, but I might have done something wrong. We've observed what it is doing with power level and time and manually cooked things like the famous blue box of macaroni and cheese, etc., with very acceptable results. Lots of other possibilities here for a person to learn from the auto settings and copy using the manual capabilities, but I'd like to be able to program the 18 numbers myself.

One point... Panasonic attempts to make extensive use of lower power levels with its "automatic" features. So... it may take a relatively long time to cook something using sensor cook. I think the trade off is worth it in many situations, as the food is cooked quite evenly. Sometimes, a person may want to just "nuke" the item. This microwave cooks faster on full power than my previous microwave.

Another point... As I mentioned, the term "Genius" is on the control panel. But let's explore what a genius would do if a person handed them food and wanted it cooked. Would the genius ask each person how much the item weighed, time and time again? I think a genius would get a scale and weigh the items so he/she wouldn't have to ask each person. Wouldn't it be great if the microwave had an internal scale and didn't prompt the user for the weight?

Much of the work on the control panel is accomplished by turning the knobs. I was hesitant, at first. But it isn't a problem. I can no longer set the time for 22 seconds, as the scale jumps as you increase the time. For example, to get to 20 seconds, you turn the dial 12 "steps". 1-10 are one second apart, then the steps are five seconds apart. When you get to a minute, the steps are ten seconds apart, and so on. Whatever... it's different than a keypad but it works.

One feature that surprised me, and I really like? The sensor/menu, time/weight and start controls illuminate when they can be used in whatever process you are working on. When the start button can be pressed, a little blue light next to it lights up. Seems silly, but the control panel layout and lighting makes operation in the dark work just fine.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this microwave. It is hard to believe that something that cooks food this evenly, looks this good and looks this solid is offered at this price. I think it is a steal given its abilities.

Sharp 1200-Watt 1.2-Cubic-Foot Microwaves Review

Sharp 1200-Watt 1.2-Cubic-Foot MicrowavesThis is a wonderful microwave oven that cooks things perfectly everytime (so far).It uses whats called "sensor cooking" so there is no need to guess about how long things should cook.If you want to reheat things from the fridge, just hit the sensor cook key, the oven starts automatically, the oven decides the amount of time needed and reheats it perfectly. No standing there wondering how long is long enough, no constantly having to waste time opening &uncovering to check if the food is ready. My experience with microwaves says things will be overcooked or undercooked everytime & you need to either stop it early or add extra time, NOT WITH THIS OVEN!!!it also has sensor settings for specific foods, such as frozen entrees, meats, rice, & veggies. Also easy to use, hit sensor and the number that corrosponds with the food you'll be cooking and you're good to go.Simple and easy.Say you use sensor cook to cook something that requiries turning over during the cooking cycle, no problem, the oven will stop, beep, the digital display will read "turn over." Most of the info you need is right there on the oven key panel so no need to keep the instruction book handy to continually check to see how to use this or that feature. The oven even has a help menu on the digital readout. While I haven't experienced no unpopped popcorn kernals, I can say the VERY little kernels remain unpopped. The oven even differentiates between the regular sized bags and the new snacked sized ones. This oven makes microwave cooking even faster because you don't waste time constantly checking the food for doneness. My local K-Mart sells this oven for $109, Walmart wants $99, so the Amazone.com price of $79 is definitely a bargin and with the free shipping, how can you not think this is one of the better purchases you'll ever make.

Cuisinart CMW-200 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Convection Microwave Oven with Grill Review

Cuisinart CMW-200 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Convection Microwave Oven with GrillI live in a small downtown unit in San Francisco, so anything that takes up space has to earn it's living. This unit is now the only "oven" I use, and it's wonderful. I see many complain about how long it takes to "heat up," but that's a misunderstanding of using convection heat. Just put whatever you want to cook in the oven--cakes, breads, lasagna, etc.--and it will cook as the oven heats. Because of the convection, there are no "hot spots" and nothing will burn. The only adjustment is the cooking time, but that can be gauged with a little practice. Easy to clean, makes wonderful toast, pies, fresh breads and roast cuts of meat.... I don't know what I'd do without this. The microwave is very flexible and easy to use with many different choices on the control panel.

Haier MWM0701TB Compact 2/3-Cubic-Foot 700-Watt Microwave Oven, Black Review

Haier MWM0701TB Compact 2/3-Cubic-Foot 700-Watt Microwave Oven, BlackI bought this microwave because it was the cheapest one I could find. And while it does the job satisfactorily I wouldn't recommend it necessarily. For one, the inside is too small, some of my plates don't even fit in or if they do they are so big they touch the side of the walls and the plate doesn't spin round. Also, this microwave isn't very powerful, if the microwave dinner box says microwave for 5 mins, I have to do it for 10. Another con is when I use the microwave, I can't use my oven. For some reason when I try to use both at the same time, they both shut off.

There are better microwaves out there that you can get for not too much more money. This microwave doesn't completely suck but I know you can get better.

Presto 05100 Microwave Bacon Cooker Review

Presto 05100 Microwave Bacon CookerAs I rapidly roar toward middle-age, I have not been paying as much attention to my diet as I should. Sanyo EM-C6786V 1-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven with Convection and Grill Review

Sanyo EM-C6786V 1-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven with Convection and GrillI recently received my new Sanyo microwave and I could not wait to post a review on it!This is a truly sleek, good looking appliance that has finally broken the mold with the innovative design of its controls.Bye, bye to the traditional and confusing button keypads of other microwave ovens...I won't miss you. :)

As another reviewer already said, there is a scroll wheel (very much like an iPod control) on the inside. You have to open the door to access the scroll wheel, but this is hardly a problem. You simply open the door, put in your plate of food, set the desired function using the scroll wheel, shut the door and hit the Start/+1 minute button. If you have to interrupt cooking, press the Stop/Clear key once to stop the oven, pressing it twice will stop the oven and clear the settings.EASY!

I set the clock on this machine in less than 10 seconds using the scroll wheel. That has never happened to me before!I know it seems trivial, but with every microwave I have ever owned, I had to pull out the instruction manual to remind myself what combination of buttons I had to press JUST TO SET THE TIME.

Incidentally, the pictures of the oven provided by Amazon are not wholly accurate because it is not plugged in.The green tinted clock/timer is on the inside of the oven, but there is a clear, rectangular view finder on the door that allows the time to be clearly displayed while the door is closed. The pictures here make it look like a simple black tinted door with a few buttons on the side. Some might think you have to open the door in order to see the clock, but that is definitely not the case.

My father, who is physically handicaped (he has only the thumb and forefinger on his right hand and has severe vision impairment), loves this oven already because it is so simple to operate. He also likes the fact there is no door handle to pull at, just a simple press of a button, and the door will open. This, again, may seem trivial but try opening a microwave with semi-greasy hands while rushing around in the kitchen. You can open this baby with a knuckle or even the flat part of the back of your hand. When you combine this with the ease of the scroll wheel, this oven may be a wonderful option for those who have severe arthritis too.Just remember to read the instruction manual thoroughly to become acquainted with the functions and you will be scrolling your way through your favorite recipes in no time!

The unit offers four combination cooking settings: combination one (microwave and convection) for frozen entrees and casseroles, combination two (microwave and grill) for steaks, combination three (grill and microwave) for chicken, and combination four (grill and convection) for hamburgers.

I am so excited to start experimenting with this oven!I have only tried the convection option so far (apart from the microwave) and I was very pleased with the results. It took less than 10 minutes to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. The cherry on the top of all this was Amazon's excellent price. When I compared this model to others with similar features, the prices were REALLY out there!

I just hope the thrilled-about-this-purchase euphoria lasts a long, long time! :)

Sharp R-402JKT 1-2/5-Cubic-Foot 1100-Watt Microwave, BlackWe reciever this microwave quickly. My microwave died after 35 yrs. and I was so happy it arrived fast.It is easy to operate and the instructions are very easy to follow.I really like all the features and the pre-set settings are very accurate. The 4 defrost settings are a real treat to me.The demenions are accurate but I didn't realize the wall plug was large so this microwave sticks out 2 inches more in front beyond my shelf edge.My old microwave's plug laid flat against the wall.I am getting use to this and it in no way affects the performance of the product. If I had known it would take up another 2 inches in deepth beyond the listed deminsions I would have purchased a smaller unit so it would fit my space better.

Sharp R-426LS Family Size Countertop Microwave Review

Sharp R-426LS Family Size Countertop MicrowaveI owned this microwave for one and a half years. In that time I was most impressed with the sleek finish and large size.It does everything you would expect of a microwave (boil water, popcorn, reheat food, etc). The preset, by weight, settings are a little hit or miss, but all in all pretty good.Generally, I like to manually adjust the power level and this microwave does a great job with that. For instance, melting butter on power level one or two melts the butter without boiling or liquefying it.

My roommate took my first Sharp and I'm about to buy my second.I hope this helps.
