A decent microwave, looks nice, spacious, which also makes it larger.

Things that work well:

Cooks very evenly
offers alot of space (possibly unnecessary space)
Quick start buttons
Soft start and quiet when it operates, which is very nice.
Lights are bright.
Installation was easy and sensible
Things that dont:

Clock is kind of dim. Hard to see at even reasonable distances during the day. Also the numbers are not centered in the LED space, looks off.

You can not program the micro to cook when the timer is operating. This is really uncommon, most microwaves offer this, so keep it mind. Basically the Micro becomes a giant kitchen timer and nothing more when you use the timer feature. Terrible design if you ask me.

Alot of "convenience" buttons that quite honestly are not very convenient. Makes you have to refer to the manual alot to remember what exactly they do and removes control from the user often overcooking the food.

Sticks out from the cabinet face a little more than most Micro ovens, and the handle is comfortable but obtrusive.

I personally only use a MIcro for basic cooking and reheating, this one is a little more than I would have ever needed as far as features go. I bought it mainly to match off with the range, apparently Frigidaire uses a coating on the certain SS appliance (professional and Gallery) it is has a different look than their regular (non-coated) SS models. Overall I am satisfied with it, but if matching is not your important, go for something else at this price point. You will probably get convection and the logic for operating the machine will probably make more sense.

We put in a totally new kitchen and chose this microwave to be installed above our range.Excited, we used every cooking feature and were so excited - at first.We noticed first the paint on the inside of the door was peeling and falling off in pieces on to the stove.Called and talked to Whirlpool; they had me call their licensed repairman in our area.We had to pay I believe it was $120 for him to come out and agree there is a problem but the company would not recognize there was a problem, saying they had never heard of this problem and it must have been something we had done or were doing.Checking the web I found many stories of people with the same problem but the company still insisted they had not heard of it.Now, today, my daughter was using the microwave, simply to reheat something, and it began to smoke and smell extremely strong like electrical burning.I am now afraid of this unit and will try, again, to find more information on this problem.We paid a lot of money for this unit and have now had it for 2 years.(I will find the exact date before I call Whirlpool).I do not expect them to agree to the problem again.I would not ever recommend this unit to anyone!!!

I have never had any problems whatsoever with this microwave.I've had one in my apartment for a couple years, using it almost every day.I bought one for my parents and it's been solid for them as well.

It's probably the smartest microwave I've used, too.You can set the kitchen timer while the unit is already microwaving, and vice versa.Pressing +30 seconds will start the microwave immediately, and you can continue to press +30 seconds to add more time.Have you ever used a microwave that doesn't allow these functions?It's a nightmare.Also, you can press one of the preset buttons and just walk away; the unit will start microwaving after a couple seconds.

No problems with heating, either.It does what you expect it to.Clean and intuitive user interface.You won't be able to change the alert sound, but that's because this is a microwave, not an f'ing toy.

this is the second sharp microwave i've had and with both, the digital display failed after brief episodes without power.unfortunately, the failed part costs as much as a new microwave.the first microwave we threw out.the second is still under warranty and will be fixed.sharp's authorized service center advised me that this 'happens a lot with sharps' and told me that they currently had seven more in the shop for the same problem.in fact, the part is on back order and i'm waiting for it before my oven can be serviced!sharp denies a problem!i find it hard to believe that they are unaware of huge orders for this 'board' that controls the digital display.my advise is to stay away from sharp microwaves until sharp fixes this obvious problem.

Dacor Convection Microwave Review

In late September of 2007 I purchased a DCM24 Convection Microwave oven for $550 and had it built in which cost more than the DCM24.I had 5 problems with this appliance with the most serious being its durability: 1) Popcorn and other things cannot be cooked without inverting a glass dish on the turntable otherwise the microwave worked fine, but the same cannot be said for the convection oven;2) When cooking with convection it has a strong fan that circulates the heat around the oven, but it also circulates the smells from the oven all over the house; 3) It was a mess to clean the inside of the oven after cooking meat and other items (other than baking breads)with convection; 4) When cooking meat and casseroles, it took much longer than the cookbook predicted time, but I will say that it did a good job baking rolls and muffins; 5)MOST IMPORTANTLY when it was 22 months old it DIED: the only things that worked were the light and the fan.I called a Dacor appliance repairman and they took it in to the shop to diagnose the problem.Several days later I was told that it would cost $355 to have it repaired. I told them that they could keep it.I will purchase a Sharp microwave - I've had 2 of them that lasted for over 10 years, and an Oster toaster oven for a small convection oven.

GE : JES1344SK Microwave Review

I have owned the GE JES1344SK for three months.The heating is very even with no hot spot problems, due to having the turntable design.

The readout is bright.The cabinet and door construction is very good.I especially like the high quality finish on the door AND case.When you receive this oven you need to remove the blue protective plastic from the cabinet.I have read other reviews describing the oven case to be blue.Apparently the reviewer did not read the instructions to remove the blue plastic on the cabinet to reveal a beautiful satin stainless finish.

The rotary control is very refreshing to use rather than the conventional push button panel, but it takes some learning.

I have found this microwave oven to be excellent in every way, and highly recommend it.

Sharp 2.0 cu.ft. 1200 Watt Microwave - R-530EKT (Black) (13.375"H x 24"W x 19.125"D) Review

My wife owned the same microwave but smaller,1CU FT when we married, she moved in with me and we stored hers in the basement for a year until we got a much bigger place.We started using hers which had more CU FT than the one I had, since we had lots of counter space.I noticed the door stuck and you had to constantly push the button for it to open, but I wrote it off as sitting in the basement for a year and getting mishandled by the movers.The thing lasted about a year and a half into till it died, my wife had owned it for quiet some time as it had been past to her by her mother.

The microwave did a decent job cooking, it wasn't great but none are.I wanted a bigger one this time so we went from the 1 CU. FT to the 2 CU FT.For the money, size and features Sharp was at the top of my list and I decided to stay with the brand.

I was pleased with the features, the sensors seemed to be off a little and the food came out cold which is fine, I would rather cook it a bit more than have the food fried.

About two months into owning the machine the door began to lock up on me just as the old one.Turns out I was wrong and it is a design flaw with the microwave.I mentioned it to my wife who clearly has stated in the past she wants nothing to do with any appliance purchases, she told me that the old one did the same thing from the time she got it, that's why her mom gave it to her.I explained to her that it would of been nice to know that prior to buying the same model.

It was my mistake for not doing my homework, so hopefully I can give you a heads up.The microwave runs fine and has lots of nice features, the major flaw is you have to continue to push the button, up to five or six times before the lock disengages.What good are fancy features if you can't open the door?

Their are a lot of nice microwaves out there with just as good features, which have doors that open with the first push of a button or pull of a handle.Be smart and choose one of them.

Whirlpool : GH7208XRB Microwave Review

This is a great microwave and I really like the features. Having said that I think a person could get a similar microwave for much less money. Prior to purchasing this I wondered what the steamer and sizzler was as there was not much information on these features. Turns out they are just a special dish. These two features certainly do not justify the several hundred dollars more than a typical microwave/convection. I have had the microwave three months now and have not even used either of the "special" vessels. The fan works very well and is very powerful. It stays on all the time during convection and sounds similar to a small jet airplane. Works great and it sounds like it should the socks off your feet. Overall I like the microwave/convection but would have bought a less expensive model knowing what I do now.
Just updating my review of this product. After a few months, the fan started vibrating producing an annoying noise. I wedged piece of wood next to the fan shroud to keep it from vibrating. Also wanted to note that November of 08 this microwave went out and no longer works. I am very disappointed in this product. I would also like to note that we are now using our nearly 30 year old Sharp microwave convection. We will be replacing the Whirlpool with a Kenmore or Sharp microwave/convection. Whirlpool products will not be part of my home in the future.

GE : JVM1540DNWW Microwave Review

Bought microwave 3.5 yrs ago.Recently the Microwave started reseting after running for 2 seconds.The first really annoying part is that you have to reset the time and date to get the microwave to function again (I hate this!!!) You cannot use until time and date are set.

Found out that RF(Radio Frequency) Mag tube inside of microwave is leaking and the RF is reseting the circuit board causing the microwave to reset.

The cost to repair is greater than the amount to buy another one.GE should make a better product.

Purchased the unit for around $200 so you do the math as to how much it cost per year to use.I will not buy another GE Microwave These things should last longer than a few years.

This is a clever assortment of screws, a few paper templates, and a couple brackets.The most useful part of the kit is the instructions.But seriously, once you see how to mount the microwave, you can buy a few screws and washers from Ace Hardware and mount it without the kit.If you're not handy, they go ahead and buy the kit.But then again, if you're not handy, you ought to hire someone to mount the microwave.

I replaced it ~jan 2007 with this model since it fits exactly into the builtin space. Few months ago my wife pointed out paint is peeling on the top inside - right over the food. She was concerned that paint would drop into food. I called GE warranty today and was told - it out of warranty thus they won't fix it. Looks like I'll have to buy a new unit due to poor GE paint job and rigid warranty policies.

I have pictures of the peeling paint - will send to GE to see what happens.

Purchased this microwave in white (R-308-NW). Use this microwave numerous times daily for all sorts of applications. Works great and has the same interior space as my old very, very large microwave. Cooks evenly and very quickly. In general, I use less time as generally called for on nearly all food items. Good price, easy to setup, and able to use a lot of the many features included with this Sharp microwave. Definitely would recommend this appliance to my friends and anyone else who is interested.

Panasonic NNSD967S 2.2-Cubic-Foot Microwave, Stainless Steel Review

Made popcorn correctly right out of the box, using that specific setting (no other foods have that specific button preset). Uses something Panasonic calls "induction" to provide intermediate intensities rather than cycling on-off. That provides a consistent result but is still a little tricky to learn the correct setting. Keep the manual handy because this MW rarely uses full power as the recommended cook rate. There is a quasi-automatic setting that detects doneness level automatically and shuts off. It mainly works by manual adjustment of the cooking rate (% of full power from the instruction manual for the type food) and detecting when sufficient steam is being outgassed. Seems to work fine for vegetables. Have not tried it yet for other foods.

Uses a spin-knob to set timer, which is sometimes convenient but sometimes annoying compared to a keypad. Unlike a keypad, however, it is easy to set in the dark because the indicator is bright - mostly too bright at night, and with no adjustment (dimming). It ends up being a nightlight in the kitchen but also signifies vampire power use. It would have been better to have the light only come on when the unit is in use.
The turntable is glass and works very well. It is easy to clean but scary in the possibility of dropping and breaking or chipping.
The entire unit is about 20 lbs lighter than the similar-sized unit it replaced, part of which is attributed to the thin gauge metal and plastic from which it is made. However, the price, compared with the unit replaced, is roughly one-third using inflation adjusted dollars.

This is our 3rd version of this same unit (1st one sold w. house...second burned out after 11 years of continuous use! This newest of this Sharp line is very good looking, beautiful Stainless throughout & larger (inside) then previous units...it has really simplified convection & mix cooking with help of it's internal computer. This is great for all of your cooking, especially cooking for 2, we never use the regular oven except for a large turkey (this unit will hold a 10# bird.) There was a problem with one of the large bolts that holds it on the back plate..did not line up correctly...that was a pain.Also shipping by UPS or FED EX ends up with a mutilated box & I'm sure damaged units (we lucked out no damage to unit- the unit is quite heavy 84# so I'm sure the carrier just "heaves" it - so if your box is badly damaged don't even open it - send it back for a new one) they should really be shipped using another source.

Black Microwave Cart With Two Shelves & Wheels Review

This is the perfect piece of furniture for the kitchen. We are able to keep a coffee maker on the top shelf and a full size microwave on the second shelf. I had a hard time finding another cart that would fit both. The slide out basket and bottom shelf provide even more storage than we need. It's completely functional, and takes up less space than I thought, blends nicely into the kitchen. Only took about 30 min to put together, but I recommend using a drill to save time/energy.

I absolutely love this oven. I owned one nu wave oven before. But this oven is much better. It heats up much faster than nu wave oven. The second you turn it on, you can feel the heat.
Very solid see through glass bowl, much better than the cheap PC bowl that nu wave oven has. Health is a big issue we can not ignore. You always have the risk to take in polymerizer when using plastic as food containers. Although plastic is much cheaper to make than glass bowl. Be responsible to yourself and the loved ones you give this gift to.
Use it, love it and use it more. Highly recommend!!

JVM3670WF Spacemaker 1.8 Cu. Ft. XL1800 36" Sensor Microwave Oven in White Review

I had this expensive Microwave (JVM3670WF) for 5 years without and issue, this is a builtin 36" wide model.I loved this microwave until the other day with it stopped heating anything.Everything else worked, but it wouldn't heat food.I called GE Service, they told me it was $99 to come out and if it was the magnatron like we thought it was, that was covered under the 10 year warrantee.GE Service came to the door, one half hour later handed my wife a $265 invoice.$99 to stop by and say hi, $125 1/2 hour labor, $36 for Magnatron part kit and tax.

I am writing this so you all know that a $650 GE Microwave that has a 10 year magnatron warrantee dies after 5 years (1/2 its life) and you pay almost 1/2 the cost of new to fix a warranteed part after they tell you it's only $99 on the phone. Next time I will buy the inexpensive offshore models. This was just in time to replace 15 year old dishwasher, Fridge and Oven..Won't be with the GE models I was looking at last weekend.Their loss in the long run.

Waring C01500 Professional Convection Oven 1.5 Cu. Feet Review

I am writing this to warn all of you cooks and bakers at home, that like me, prefer real commercial equipment in your kitchen.Anything less is just a toy.I had purchased the Waring Pro 1500 convection oven thinking this would be a quality convection oven to replace a Farberware convection oven that I have had for over 10 years and just plain wore out.I ordered the Waring Pro 1500 from a catalog/online store other than Amazon, I don't know if it is legal to say, but it does have the word Chef's in it.I was so excited to get it!I opened the box, set it up, and was so disappointed.It was made so poorly I was just sick.The stainless steel top was not smoothed out, the oven door was installed so crooked it scraped the metal off of the side of the controls, and it had been dropped or something before packing because the feet were up inside of the thing, and the top was bent down.The shipping packaging was fine, there was no broken packing and the box was fine.OK, so I sent that one back, got a replacement thanks to the wonderful customer service at the online store, and opened the second one, same thing!!I was so devastated, that I decided to give it a shot anyhow.While cooking with it, the door had such a bad seal that it just steamed out the front, sides and bottom.I was amazed that there could be such shoddy workmanship out there on what was being advertised as commercial quality.OK, so oven number two went back, and I tried one more, what the heck three strikes you are out right?Right!!Finally oven number three came and it was put together so much better, seal looked good, top and feet looked good, so I decided to give it a whirl.Once again, huge disappointment.The convection fan goes on and off with the burner coils.Thus not giving the cooking cycle a true convection.I called Waring customer service and it was confirmed by engineering that they designed the fan to come on and off with the coils.Bad design!It took longer to bake cookies in there than it would my regular oven, and then they were hard and dry.I rotisseried a chicken and it took over 1 and a half hours and when I cut it, the skin was soggy, not crisp, and it wasn't cooked all the way through after 90 minutes!The thing popped (sounded like it was going to blow up) every time it heated up because they riveted the rack holders in there so tight, also making it nearly impossible to go from racks to using baking trays.OK, that was it!!After extensive internet research, I finally found a convection oven that is truly a commercial oven made for residential use, and exchanged it with the wonderful catalog/online store mentioned before and got the Cadco Commercial (and I do mean Commercial) half size convection oven Model number OV-350 and have used it many times since it's arrival and absolutely love it!!I know it is twice the price, but as usual, you get what you pay for.There is a smaller size version of the Cadco/Broilking oven that is quarter size, for people that do not need to bake huge quantities like me, that is the same price as the Waring Pro.Please people, if you are at all a person that demands quality in your kitchen, do not waste your time on the Waring Pro, just skip right to the real commercial stuff and save yourself some major stress!!Thanks again to the wonderful customer service at the aforementioned catalong/online company for NOT making me be stuck with the worthless Waring PRO 1500!!Go for the Cadco!

It took 20 minutes from frozen. I was surprised how juicy and flavorful they tasted.
